The Resilient Workshop — Echuca / Moama

Grow Strong, Give Back.

Building resilience locally while raising funds for mental health.

This not for profit workshop is a practical, half-day workshop created for everyday people juggling busy lives.

You’ll learn simple tools to steady your body, clear your mind, and feel more in control. Before the session you’ll complete the SPARK “Living Well” assessment, which helps you pinpoint the areas that matter most for your wellbeing — so everything we cover feels relevant and doable, not “one more thing” to add to the list.

Why It Matters

In regional life we’re great at looking after everyone else — family, farms, work, community — but not always ourselves.

Resilient gives locals simple, science-backed ways to steady the mind and body, especially in places where mental-health support can be harder to access.

It’s a chance to slow down, reconnect, and build habits that protect your wellbeing — so you can keep showing up for the people who rely on you.

Your Ticket Helps Raise Awareness

Across Australia, a lot of people are doing it tough with their well-being — often quietly. Here’s why raising money and awareness matters.

Men’s Mental Health

A quiet crisis hiding in plain sight.

  • 3 in 4 suicides are men.
  • Suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 15–44.
  • Many cope by overworking, alcohol, numbing, or withdrawal instead of reaching out.
  • In regional areas, male suicide rates are significantly higher than in capital cities.

Women’s Mental Health

Different pressures — equally real struggles.

  • 1 in 5 women experience high psychological distress each year.
  • Higher rates of anxiety and depression than men.
  • Burnout is common for mums, carers, and frontline workers.
  • Many support everyone else first — and only seek help when they’re at breaking point.

Different stories, same truth: people are hurting, often without the tools or support they need. Early stress skills, safe conversations, and community connection can change the story.

Meet Your Facilitator

Dr Dan Harrison — Psychologist, Coach, and Co-Founder of Lumenara

Raised in Echuca, Dr Dan Harrison has seen how life in regional communities can move between calm and chaos — and how learning to stay steady through those changes is a skill anyone can build.

In recent years working in the community, Dan has seen how many people are quietly doing it tough — often without access to the kinds of wellbeing programs that city workplaces or larger organisations take for granted.

After his own experience of burnout, he turned to neuroscience, mindfulness, and simple body-based tools to rebuild from the inside out. That journey became the foundation of Lumenara’s work — bringing practical, evidence-based resilience training to everyday people, and raising awareness for both mental health and men’s health along the way.

With a PhD in Psychology, Harvard Medical School training, and experience running workshops around the world, Dan combines science and lived insight to help people strengthen clarity, calm, and self-compassion — the real roots of resilience.

Participant portrait

Life out here doesn’t slow down. People rely on us — at home, at work, in the community — and we’ve got to be steady enough to carry it. Giving back to Movember and Beyond Blue means others get a fair go too. Just looking after yourself, and helping the next bloke do the same.
