    Dr Dan Harrison — Psychologist, Coach, and Co Founder of Lumenara

    I’ve been where you might be now — high-achieving on the outside, quietly falling apart on the inside. I burned out. I numbed out. I lived in a fog of shame, pressure, and disconnection while still performing like everything was fine.

    Eventually, I stopped trying to fix myself — and started learning how to actually feel. I rebuilt from the inside out using neuroscience, mindfulness, somatic practice, and a hell of a lot of honesty. That journey changed everything.

    Now I guide others through the same kind of shift. I bring the science (PhD in Psychology, Harvard Medical School training), the career experience, and the lived truth. What I care about most? Giving people real tools for the real world — especially when things feel messy.

    From Stuck to Self: My Journey

    Before Lumenara existed, I had to break down — and rebuild — from the inside out. Here’s how it happened, and why I believe this work matters now more than ever.

    Everything looked fine—until it wasn’t.

    The Illusion of Success

    On paper, I had it all. A PhD, a great career, a family, status. But inside, I was chasing an endless sense of “not enough.” No matter what I achieved, peace stayed just out of reach.

    Behind the smile was a storm I couldn’t stop.

    The Inner Collapse

    I was spiraling. Anxiety. Bullying at work. Alcohol. A body that never felt safe. Depression that didn’t respond to treatment. I kept showing up for others—but I was disappearing inside myself.

    It didn’t begin with a breakthrough. It began with a choice.

    The Turning Point

    On October 12, 2023, I stopped waiting to feel ready. I made one quiet but powerful decision: I would put my well-being first. Not after I fixed everything. Not someday. Now.

    Breath by breath, step by step—I rebuilt from within.

    The Rebuild

    I stopped performing and started paying attention. I studied everything—neuroscience, breathwork, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, somatic tools. I practiced what I found. Slowly, I came back to life. And I built Lumenara to offer others the same way back.
